On the third month of the raw food diet, he began to freeze. Raw foodists don't freeze

Just anecdote almost on topic 🙂
- Do you have anything to drink?
— Water.
- And stronger?
- Ice...

In the middle of autumn, on the eve of winter, someone begins to get very cold. And many consider this to be a well-founded reason to “tie up” with a raw food diet: they say that we are not adapted to natural living food in middle lane or a little further...

On this occasion, I would like to quote a good quote from the Vita website - the center for the protection of animal rights (http://www.vita.org.ru):

“A person with his ingenuity and ability to adapt to any conditions, if he wants, can always find a way out of the situation without compromising his health and well-being. For many years we have proved this fact by our personal example. The severity of the climate has nothing to do with it: in the warm southern countries, where roadsides are lined with the sweetest fruits, mountains of meat are eaten and furs are used.

And, of course, I also recall a significant example of the Siberian hermit Anastasia, who leads a natural lifestyle and, of course, eats exclusively live foods. These are her words: EAT AS YOU BREATHE...

And about the “permafrost”, I also want to add that a person begins to freeze when his blood vessels are “clogged”. Here is what Vadim Zeland says about this:
“The fact that hot food warms is an illusion. The body must warm itself, from the inside. This requires clean vessels. Cleans blood vessels well lemon juice, natural apple cider vinegar, linseed oil. When you eat living food, your vessels will be cleansed and your blood will become hot. It won't happen right away, but it will inevitably happen. At the moment, you can still include in the diet sprouted legumes, boiled for no more than 3 minutes, as well as sprouted grains of wheat, sunflower, pumpkin.

Also, if you are doing certain exercise, you must know their warming effect. I can especially recommend the Beloyar system, in which muscle tension exercises contribute to a significant “warming up” of the body. Tested on myself...

So now you decide to be or not to be, and I will give you a list of warming and cooling products to help you. If you see the same product in both cooling and warming, then such a product is classified as neutral.

In some sources Chinese medicine foods are divided into hot, warm, neutral, refreshing and cold. Energy processes in the body are very important from the point of view of Chinese medicine. It proceeds from the fact that each product, regardless of the number of calories, has a certain effect on the energy balance of the body and on its internal and external energy pathways (meridians). According to this philosophy, breathing, movement and nutrition act on the individual electromagnetic force field of the body. They change the frequency and amplitude of oscillations of this field, slowing down or accelerating recovery. There are foods that energize the body, warm it in the truest sense of the word and strengthen vitality. These are warming and neutral products.

All other foods fill the body with juices and fluids, as well as cool it: such foods are referred to as "refreshing" and "cold".
It is necessary to know that energy in this sense has nothing to do with calories and calorific value. On the contrary, it may be that, in our opinion, a substance with a high thermal capacity, from the point of view of Chinese medicine, takes our energy. For example, sugar, from the point of view of Western teachings, is a high-calorie product, and from the point of view of Chinese medicine, it is a very cooling product.

This approach can explain a lot. For example, many do not understand why citrus fruits, despite the high content of vitamin C, they do not stop, but increase the symptoms of a cold. The energy table of Chinese medicine explains this: such fruits cool and are least of all needed by a cold body.

In terms of energy costs for digestion of products: some vegetables, fruits and dairy products are cooled. Fats and carbohydrates (like oils and honey) keep you warm. Since the temperature of food is basically close to the ambient temperature, its thermal effect on the body is insignificant. You can only feel its warming or cooling properties long time taking the same product. Energy (warming or cooling) effect is more characteristic of spices.

Cooling Products

There are foods that have a cold taste. They bring cold energy into the body. These are products such as:

Amaranth, broccoli, peas, zucchini, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower, potatoes, lettuce (leaves), seaweed, cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes, rhubarb, lettuce, celery, pumpkin, fennel, zucchini, spinach, sorrel, cuzzini, asparagus. Sour cabbage.

Quince, oranges, etc. southern fruits, cherry plum, watermelon, bananas, black grapes, cherries (sweet), pears, melon, blackberries, strawberries, coconut, lemon, raspberries, tangerines, peaches, mountain ash, plums, black currants, pumpkin, apricots, apples (sour).

Coriander (seeds), saffron, mint.

Oats, millet, millet, rye, barley, rice.

Soybeans, green peas, beans, lentils.

Salt, sauces, seaweed.

Coffee, sunflower oil, coconut oil, cow's milk, cottage cheese, granulated sugar, dry wine, egg (protein), cheese (especially young), mineral water, green and black tea, fruit juice, rosehip tea.

"Morning" medicinal plants (taken 30-40 minutes before breakfast and lunch): aloe (for long periods of pregnancy) *, marshmallow, bergenia, barberry (pregnancy), elderberry, initial letter, three-leaf watch, geranium, snake mountaineer, strawberry (leaves) ( pregnancy), coriander (cilantro), mullein, burdock, raspberry (leaves), shepherd's purse (pregnancy), plantain, senna (Alexandrian leaf), bearberry (pregnancy), yarrow (pregnancy), green tea.

“Evening” medicinal plants (taken 30-40 minutes before dinner and at bedtime): birch, gentian, elecampane (pregnancy), oak (bark), jaundice, corn stigmas, madder, dandelion, motherwort, sophora, horsetail, chicory.

Warming products

Well absorbed by the body unrefined vegetable oil. It, in addition to containing vitamin E, has positive influence on cells and capillaries.

The lack of fats is especially harmful in the cold season: feet and hands freeze, potency weakens, stress, dermatitis occur, children grow more slowly. But fats in small quantities are necessary, in large quantities they are harmful. The norm for an adult is 1 teaspoon of oil per day. Of the unrefined oils, linseed, olive, sesame, cedar, etc. have proved to be the best. So it is better not to exclude oils in the transitional period of a raw food diet.

Choosing vegetables, pay attention to carrots, rutabagas and parsnips. They are well absorbed by the body, bring warmth and give a lot of energy. This is the perfect winter food. Also a good source of carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins is pumpkin. It gives a feeling of satiety and warmth in the cold season.

In particular, warming also includes:

Eggplant, mustard, coriander (cilantro), onion, green onion, olives, carrots, garlic feathers, red peppers, parsley, tomatoes, turnips, rhubarb, beets, celery, pumpkin, red beans, horseradish, wild garlic, garlic, peas, cabbage. These vegetables also provide us with important vitamins and secondary plant substances that strengthen the body's resistance.

Apricots, cherries, pomegranates, pears, plums, grapes, sweet cherries, peaches, sweet apples, walnuts, raisins, figs, dried ginger, chestnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, nutmeg, dates, pistachios, hazelnuts, dried fruits.

Cloves, mustard seed, cardamom, cinnamon, sesame, turmeric, fenugreek (seeds), black pepper, celery (seed), cumin, garlic, curry, nutmeg, basil, dill, laurel, marjoram, saffron.

Buckwheat, corn, wheat, spelled, bran, oats, millet

Lentils red and black.

Vinegar natural.

Mustard, corn, sesame, linseed, olive oil.

Grape juice.

"Morning" medicinal plants: anise, aralia, star anise, hawthorn, cloves, laxative joster, calendula, viburnum, cardamom, red clover, cinnamon, nettle, flax (seed), rosemary, chamomile (pregnancy), cumin, fennel, sage (pregnancy), rosehip, eucalyptus.

“Evening” medicinal plants: calamus (pregnancy), arnica, basil, valerian root, elecampane (pregnancy), oregano (pregnancy), St. John's wort (pregnancy), flaxseed, coltsfoot, lemon balm, juniper berries (pregnancy), mint, wormwood (pregnancy), chamomile (pregnancy), licorice (pregnancy), pine buds (pregnancy), thyme, black tea, celandine, saffron, tarragon (tarragon).

Note:* in parentheses are indicated contraindications for use medicinal plants only during pregnancy.

hot products, as well as "cold", you can not abuse, especially curry, red and black pepper. Such food protects from the internal cold and is a good addition in the winter season. AT in large numbers they increase Yang energy.

So, the amount of hot spices in cold weather can be increased, in summer - it is desirable to reduce. The same rule applies to onions, garlic, mustard, ginger - they all warm food. All Yin foods can be turned into Yang foods by adding spices!

Sometimes they ask if hot tea is allowed. I will answer with the words of Vadim Zeland: “Hot food is dead anyway. You have to choose between living or dead food. You can drink hot tea, there will be no great harm. ” Very cold or very hot food is not useful: both require additional energy for thermoregulation. In addition, hot food and water have a very negative effect on taste buds.

Good afternoon, dear readers!

I have wanted to write this review for a very long time, because this topic is so close and interesting to me that it would be a sin to leave it without attention, despite the catastrophic lack of time.

For the first time, I took up raw food very spontaneously, without even imagining what it is and what there is such a specific style. eating behavior) At the age of 16, finishing school, I decided that my figure was far from ideal, since with a height of 175 I weighed 60 kg. Oh God!!! (Now I understand that this is quite the norm, but then teenage extremism required me to take decisive action to lose the hated fat).

There was no Internet then, I read my mother’s old notebooks, in which there were all kinds of diets (mother also sinned by self-digging). I started to lose weight on them, but gradually removed all foods that contain protein or fat, because I was afraid that it was with them that I would be trampled. By the method of such an exception, she switched completely to fruits and vegetables, especially leaned on raw beets, ate tons of them. I had no doubts about vegetables, because everything that was included came out with a bang! By the way, before that I suffered from wild constipation, but after changing the diet I completely forgot what constipation is. As a result, in 5 months I reached a record weight of 44 kg, and then my mother began to sound the alarm and drag me to the doctors in order to cure me of anorexia. At that time, in addition to fruits and vegetables, I ate seeds and nuts, sometimes dried fruits and honey. I especially adored persimmons, I could eat a kilogram at a time! Despite the pathetic attempts of my mother to hand me at least a piece of cutlet or whitewash, I continued to eat as I felt comfortable.

The first thing I felt, with a change in nutrition, I stopped getting acute respiratory infections from the word at all, although in my medical card thick with 3 volumes of "War and Peace" stood in large letters on the cover of CBD (frequently ill children). Prior to that, I was stably lying with a cold about once every couple of months, plus there were boils from time to time. All this passed after 4 months of my raw food diet. I was just delighted!!! No cough, snot or boils!

The second thing that struck me was a huge surge of strength and energy! Before that, I could lie down and read a book for hours, after the transition of energy it became so much that I have nowhere to put it. I ran in the morning, went in for sports in the section, went to lectures to prepare for the institute, while cooking for my family, making all kinds of preparations and pickles! And still, I still had the strength for the nightly dance exercises. With all this, I was preparing for the last exams at school. it was easy to learn, everything was remembered with a bang!

The third, in my opinion, not a very positive moment, my periods disappeared. From the word at all. They recovered only by the age of 21, when I began to include fat-containing foods and milk in the diet.

Thus, despite the negative attitude of my mother and relatives towards my diet (SOVDEP and cutlets rule), I ate raw foods from 16 to 21 years old.

As for the climate and nutrition on a raw food diet in such a harsh climate (Chelyabinsk), I will say that YEAH, it's COLD! It is always cold in winter, because all the same it seems to me that a raw food diet is for warm countries. I was very cold, I put on a couple of sweaters, while my friends went around in T-shirts.

As for the variety in nutrition, it seems to me that you can always choose and buy something to your liking. We have a lot of vegetables that can be eaten in winter, and fruits can be kept in the cellar from autumn. Especially when you have your own garden, this is generally a godsend for a raw foodist!

Around the age of 18, the weight began to gradually return to normal, I grew to 178 and my weight was about 55-57 kg.

At the age of 21, I finished my studies and went to work in the police, and here I had to say goodbye to a raw food diet for a while) There I was taught to drink, smoke and swear, and with in a healthy way life doesn’t fit well) I still didn’t eat meat (I don’t like it since childhood), but I constantly ate chips, sweets, chocolates and other chemical rubbish.

This went on until the age of 25, after which, thank God, I quit the internal affairs bodies, and again felt like a woman, not an employee))).

However, the woman was so-so, to put it mildly, swollen with fat, a shapeless carcass with dull hair and a gray face. Fuuuu, I said to myself and set to work.

I eliminated harmful substances from the diet, turned on sports, and after a couple of months I met my husband and became pregnant. During pregnancy, I ate a lot of salads, but I also sinned with hot smoked mackerel) I could eat it at one in the morning, apparently the baby demanded!

After the birth of my child, my diet was still 80% raw food, the rest was dairy and cheeses (I really love cheese).

At the age of 29, when planning my second child, I completely switched to a raw food diet, which helped me conceive a girl, a very long-awaited one. (There is a lot of information on the Internet that when eating fruits and vegetables, the body reproduces female offspring). It worked for us!

During pregnancy, I ate very little, also mostly fruits and vegetables, but I ate them boiled, steamed, plus I drank a lot of yogurt (I put it myself from natural milk). Pregnancy, like the first time, was easy, the baby was born healthy and full-term.

And now, having finally moved to a warm climate (Krasnodar), I am approaching the idea of switching to a 100% raw food diet! While in my diet there are occasionally boiled vegetables and lean muffins, with the onset of summer, I think to abandon them too. Here, in the south, it is a paradise for a raw foodist, vegetables and fruits are very cheap and insanely delicious, and dried fruits and nuts are a separate issue! I just enjoy them, feeling how my body is filled with energy. I take tests regularly, despite the fact that I have not eaten meat, chicken and fish for about 9 years, B12 is normal, hemoglobin 120, also pleases. I don’t take additional vitamins, I treat colds only with sea salt and propolis. I go in for sports regularly, 2 times a day or 1, but every day. I don't drink or smoke! At 34, I look, in my opinion, not bad, at least some of my peers look much older. This, of course, is genetically predisposed to a greater extent, but I think nutrition also plays an important role)

At the same time, I have enough strength to work (I'm a remote lawyer), a little daughter and a first-grader's son) And don't forget my husband! To all of them, I cook regular meat meals, every day, and I love it! And they are happy and say delicious! But they do not refuse my raw-food sweets and cakes))).

So, in my opinion, a raw food diet is a very favorable and natural nutrition system for a person, but only if there are no direct contraindications!

Thank you all for your attention, I hope my review will be useful to you)))

18.02.2014 Pelagia Zuykova Save:

Hello! Many people on a raw food diet are cold even indoors, despite warm clothes and shoes. I will help you understand the reasons why raw foodists get cold, and I will give a concrete solution to problems with freezing of the body.

Why does a raw foodist freeze and what to do?

1. Violation of blood circulation.

The reasons for this may be tight clothing (wear warm but loose clothing). When it is cold, the limbs (arms and legs) feel it first. When the hands freeze, the whole body becomes cold. Therefore, always keep your limbs warm.

2. Inactivity.

A sedentary lifestyle is clearly not for a raw foodist! Walk every day, walk from work / school, exercise, sign up for sports section etc. I have been very cold since childhood, now walks in the fresh air, sports and massage help me a lot from coldness and fatigue.

3. Strong acidification of the body and detoxification.

When the body is being cleansed during the transitional period (the process of detoxification is underway), then freezing is quite a normal phenomenon, since toxins are released and the blood is strongly acidified. Also, your organs have not yet been reconditioned to new conditions and new food. But being cold also depends on what's in your diet.

If you eat a lot of nuts and dried fruits, then the body is more acidic than alkalized. At the same time, bacteria predominate in your intestines - alcohol fermenters, which take a lot of energy from food.

The same thing happens with an abundance of cereals and other protein foods - the body becomes acidic. The way out is a low-protein raw food diet, but only for raw foodists with an experience of 6 months or more. You also need to drink enough water to flush out acidity and toxins during cleaning.

4. Lack of sweet fruits in the diet.

In winter, eat sweet and semi-sweet fruits: bananas, sweet apples, etc. They will help keep you warm. Sour fruits slightly reduce the body's thermoprotective properties. The exception is grenade, which works the other way around.

In general, sour fruits give an alkaline reaction in the body, but in a raw food beginner, the processes are not yet set up, so the reaction can often be sour, which is good for alcohol fermenters.

5. Dehydration.

The transition to an acidic environment in the body is associated with dehydration. The body freezes faster if the body is dehydrated, because the volume of blood decreases, blood circulation worsens. Therefore, you need to drink 1.5-2 liters of fluid per day.

Just drink not tea, but herbal infusions (except mint), but rather clean water. A sign of lack of water can be not only thirst, but also orange urine + dry skin of the hands.

6. Lack of potassium, iron and iodine in the diet.

If you eat little greens, then there is nothing surprising in the fact that you are not cold. Include greens, green sprouts (sprouts) of cereals and seeds, green smoothies in the diet. Very well helps from the cold celery, which is rich in potassium.

In winter, include seaweed (kelp) in your diet, which will provide the necessary nutrients for your thyroid gland(including iodine).

7. Lack of omega-3 fatty acid.

In winter, do not focus on nuts, cereals and seeds, but consume in moderation (no more than 60-100 grams per day): flax, hemp seeds, walnuts. These foods are rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which make the blood more liquid, which is why the latter circulates better in organs and tissues.

Don't be surprised if your diet is high in nuts, grains, and legumes, as well as vegetable oils. All of them contain too much omega-6, therefore they make your blood thicker, and the latter stagnates and circulates poorly - which makes you feel cold.

8. Using very hot spices.

Oddly enough, hot spices are extremely harmful to the body, although they warm the body in the process of their use. I especially do not recommend using black and red peppers (hot chili). Why, you ask? The fact is that hot spices contain various poisons, which make them spicy in taste. When such a product enters the body, it tries to reject it and, accordingly, releases heat.

But as a result, hypothermia of the body is possible, since it spends priceless heat for it to neutralize the poisons that are contained in very hot spices. But not all spices are poisonous. You can use onion, garlic, ginger, cinnamon and other mild (dill, parsley) or almost mild spices in small amounts.

By the way, ginger infusion with honey is very good in winter (you can warm it up to 40 degrees).

As for salt (of course, sea siege, not table salt): at the initial stage, it is better to leave it in the diet, because it is a natural antibiotic and kills many bacteria. But in the future it is desirable to completely abandon it.

9. Fatigue and excess body fat.

Obese people have worse blood circulation, they freeze because of this. Doesn't even save body fat. And fatigue makes things even worse.

10. Lack of food and energy.

During the transitional period, living food is poorly digested, which is why the novice raw foodist lacks the energy that he receives from food. This is why many raw foodists eat a lot during the transition period.

Eat as much as you want, especially alkalizing organism (vegetables, herbs). But do not eat unripe fruits, or foods that have been stored for a long time - they will definitely acidify you and only bring harm.

11. Weak spirituality and distrust of the raw food diet.

An increase in vibrations, spirituality, awareness of a raw food diet as an integral part of one's life increases the tone of the body, which, in addition to peace and positive, is also less cold.

That's all for me on the coldness of the raw food diet. Share your experience in the comments, and also ask your questions - we will answer them. See you in other articles coming soon! Bye-bye, friends.

Having come to the conclusion that our ideal food is fruits and vegetables, we involuntarily wonder if warm countries, where fruits and vegetables grow in abundance all year round, are not our natural habitat. Unfortunately, the ancestors of most of us chose countries with a not very favorable climate for life. Most readers live in cold climates where only a meager selection of local fruits and vegetables is available for much of the year. Some hundred years ago, a Canadian would hardly have been able to eat mostly raw fruits and vegetables all year round. But today we are inundated with imported food from all over the world. Why not take advantage of these modern advances? Now healthy eating possible for everyone, despite the steady deterioration in the quality of products.

If you have the opportunity to move to warmer climes and build your own little sunny paradise there, I warmly recommend that you do so and wish you success with all my heart. But not everyone has such an opportunity. I am aware that most readers are unlikely to move to Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, or Florida in the next few years.

The winter diet of northern raw foodists does not have to be very different from that of southerners. Cold weather slightly increases our need for calories (energy), which is enough to meet just a little more food. Many people think that in winter you need to eat more fats, but this is not so. You can get the extra calories you need from carbohydrates, such as bananas.

Preference for local products

Some philosophers, such as macrobiotics, argue that exotic and imported foods are harmful. If you take this point of view, it turns out that oranges, bananas, avocados, papaya and mangoes are contraindicated for Canadians, and apples, pears and blueberries are contraindicated for Indians. If you think about it, there is no particular difference between the Canadian body and the Indian body - both belong to the human race. Not to mention the fact that we can easily fly to India and eat mangoes there ... Will this change anything in the constitution of our body? Or will these fruits suddenly become useful for us? What if we decide to move to India altogether? Our stomach, intestines and other organs will remain the same.

I understand that critics often focus on the quality of products and the environmental issues associated with imported food. Of course, imported mangoes and those plucked straight from the tree are two big differences. And yet it is better to eat imported mangoes than cereals that have been in storage for months, or even apples, which, before reaching the counter, are stored in huge refrigerators, sometimes for a whole year. But today, thanks to an efficient supply chain, very high quality food is available to us. For example, in Montreal I can get better quality mangoes than I have tasted in countries where they are grown directly.

With regard to environmental aspects, I agree that eating imported products is unfriendly to our environment. However, if I were limited to local products, I would have to eat shriveled apples and shriveled carrots for months. I just couldn't eat like that! Thus, the use of imported food is another compromise. However, it is worth noting that the production and export of fruits and vegetables, in general, requires fewer resources than the production of animal products or even grains. Again, no one forces you to buy imported products from very far away lands - for example, durian or coconuts from Thailand.

Product quality

During the long northern winter, local produce is not enough. Leaf lettuce sometimes travels to us from southern agricultural farms for weeks. In this situation, it is useful to buy or grow your own fresh sunflower greens. In essence, sunflower seedlings can be considered green vegetable. Sunflower greens are easy to grow right at home. Harvested just before eating, these sprouts are by far the freshest and tastiest winter vegetables.

How not to freeze

Many raw foodists complain that they are cold and give strange advice to eat spicy vegetables like cayenne. capsicum and garlic. However, these vegetables are toxic (see Chapter 7) and create only the illusion of warmth, but in reality they produce the exact opposite effect. The feeling of “pleasant warmth” in the body after eating hot peppers only means that the body has activated metabolic processes in order to neutralize the poisonous substance. capsaicin found in cayenne pepper.

Typical Cause the fact that raw foodists "freeze" in winter - the use of cold food. From fruits that have not had time to warm up after the refrigerator, you will naturally become cold, or even catch a cold. I advise you to avoid cold food in winter. Take out the fruits and vegetables that you will eat tomorrow from the refrigerator - they should be at room temperature when consumed. If you want to eat something straight from the refrigerator, put it in warm water for ten minutes.

The best way keep warm in winter exercise stress. Aerobic exercise can speed up your metabolism by 10% compared to resting. To put it simply, this means that if you exercised vigorously for an hour without generating any heat at all, your body temperature would rise to 60°C! This excess heat our body radiates with the help of sweating, and yet you can always disperse the feeling of cold with a little morning exercise.

Tropical or temperate fruits?

Disputes about which fruits of which climatic zone are better do not subside. One theory claims that tropical fruits are preferable, as our body is more genetically adapted to them. That is, papaya, bananas, mangoes are supposedly healthier than apples, pears and berries. True, I have never seen convincing evidence for this idea. Personally, I think that all fruits are equally good, and pears, apples, peaches and cherries are just as beautiful, tasty food like papaya, mango and lychee. I love variety and enjoy eating all the fruits that the earth gives us, depending on where I am at the moment and what I can get. Many of the most delicious fruits not very well known - cherimoya, lychee, jackfruit, durian. As the role of fruits in human nutrition grows, the variety of species available to us will expand more and more.

For lunch, I buy a couple of pears in the supermarket, four or not, five bananas are better and a bottle of water. I also have some nuts - hazelnuts mixed with almonds and a few dates. My heart skips a beat when I walk past the shelves with dairy products. I pass bread. I pass waffles. I don't even look in the direction of the meat counter. Only forward - straight to the checkout. I heard somewhere that raw foodists have such good circulation that they don't get cold.

Then I sit on a damp bench in the small park near the art gallery. Under the gusts of wind from the Kama, I create my modest meal.

How did I get there?

If anyone suddenly does not know, a vegan raw food diet is when you eat only raw vegetables, fruits, legumes, cereals, berries. No pasta, no rice, nothing that has been heat treated above 40-50 degrees.

What kind of freak is this? For example, the sting of animals - you refuse animal products, clothes made of fur and leather. You are no longer an accomplice in murder. This would be enough for a humanist and nature lover, so why throw away the frying pan?

Then, raw foodists believe that only raw or “live” cuisine provides a person with the necessary and normal set of nutrients. And, in general, provides natural digestion. Whether this is so is a moot point. There are enough scientific and pseudo-scientific studies of the raw food diet. The main thing is that veganism is for the soul, and a raw food diet seems to be for health.

My jump into raw-breeding came as a surprise not only to my family, but also to myself. Here on Saturday, I gobble up dumplings, traditional for this day of the week, with appetite (it just so happened in the family: Shabbat means dumplings, dumplings means Shabbat). And on Monday I mix a banana with dill and sprouted wheat for breakfast.

So, turning me into a raw foodist happened on Sunday, but I don’t remember exactly how it happened - thank you.

Probably, it just became interesting: “Can I?”

Now I recall with a smile the first days of the “experiment”. Like the first night I dreamed that I made my way into the kitchen and stealthily eat chicken cutlets. As I woke up, I almost drank kefir. How two bowls of salad were prepared for dinner: one, smaller - for the family, the other, more spacious - for me.

Articles about the raw food diet scared me, they said that at first there could be problems with digestion, and I would break out in pimples and sweat terribly. But nothing like that happened. By the end of the first week, I realized that the satiety of a raw foodist is almost indistinguishable from the persistent feeling of hunger of a “normal person”.

By the start of the third week, I had learned to love the feeling. It was surprising that by the end of the day there was still a whole bunch of energy that had to be used somewhere. I got it from behind the sofa and dusted the dumbbells. Almost took up yoga.

Meanwhile, friends and acquaintances began to look at me strangely. Some expressed vague fears like: "Are you not afraid that one day you will be blown away by the wind?" Or: “It seems that you are hooked on something ...”

I laughed it off, they say, the grass is different grass.

Whatever it was, I felt that I was doing everything right. It was like getting rid of some unnecessary duty, like passing an exam in a boring subject.

And so, I am sitting on a wet bench, blown by a cold wind and filled with inner pride. I am enjoying the fourth banana.

But cold. Cold.

And I repeat to myself: "Raw foodists do not freeze, raw foodists do not freeze, raw foodists do not freeze."
