Beaches in Istanbul reviews of tourists. Istanbul in summer: independent vacation, Istanbul beaches, things to do

Istanbul is a huge city, so there will be few people on the beaches here, but just a lot, especially this trend is observed on weekends. And the seas near Istanbul are not particularly clean. The huge number of ships in the Sea of Marmara and the Bosphorus does not inspire much optimism either. If you still want to swim in the capital of Turkey, then there are places here. The best option of course, he will not look for a beach in the city, but buy a plane ticket and fly to the nearest resort. But not everyone can afford it. Therefore, it is worth considering places in the city itself that can be visited within a few hours or one day.

Istanbul Beaches: Küçuksu Beach, Florya Beach, Caddebostan Beach, Yesilköy Beach. The option to dive with a nearby stone, bridge, embankment and other things will not be considered here, since this can be done in any place suitable for this. But, of course, you should not forget that you can do this only at your own peril and risk.

The beach located in Florya Güneş, eight hundred and forty meters long, is one of the most simple ways swim in Istanbul. The beach is located on the coast of the Marmara Sea. Entrance here is paid and is about fifteen lira. It is open to visitors officially until seven in the evening. The infrastructure is well developed on the beach, there are cafes, changing rooms, toilets, sun loungers, showers and umbrellas. The beach itself consists of fine sand. You can get here from the Sirkeci station by light rail, this is the Sirkeci stop, if you go by train, you need to get to the Florya station. Trains between stations Florya and Sirkeci run very often. If you get from the Sultanahmet or Beyazit district, then go to the Sikerdzhi station to get to Florya, you don’t have to go, it’s not necessary. You can just walk towards the Sea of Marmara to the Kumkapı or Cankurtaran train stops, respectively. And if you live in Laleli or Askar, then you also need to get to the Yenikapı stop.

Çiroz Halk Plajı - Beach in Yesilkoy. Entrance to this beach is free. Here you can use the toilets, showers, as well as rent sunbeds and umbrellas. The length of the beach is six hundred and sixty meters. You can get to this beach in the same way as to the beach in Floria. Just get off at Yeşilköy stop.

There are also Caddebostan beaches in Istanbul - Caddebostan plaj. The beaches are located in Asia, in the Kadikoy region, that is, in the Asian part of the Sea of Marmara. The beaches in this area are three two hundred and fifty meters long, three hundred and four hundred and fifty. Entrance to all beaches is completely free. On the local beaches in Jaddebostan there is an infrastructure: toilets, showers, cafes. You can also rent umbrellas and sunbeds.

To get to these Jaddebostan beaches, you first need to get to the Kadikoy pier. With the help of water transport, this is very easy to do, from Kabatas, Eminonu, Besiktas and other places. Further you need to take a bus from Kadikoy, which follows the direction of Pendik along the coast. For example, buses number 4 and 16 follow this direction, as well as 16 D, ER2 (to Kadikoy - ER1) and others. You will need to get off at the stops TAHRAN LİSESİ, ÇİFTE HAVUZLAR, GÖZTEPE, it all depends on which part of the beach you need to get to.

On the Asian side of the Bosphorus Strait, Kyuchuksu Beach is located, next to the Kyuchuksu Palace. And this beach is free for everyone. The beach is quite small, its length is only three hundred meters. But there are usually a lot of people here. The beach also has toilets, showers and changing cabins. In order to get to Kucuksu beach, you first need to get to the Üskğdar pier - Yusküdar. This can be done on a vaporizer. Or along the Marmaray line. Next, you need to transfer to any bus number 15, 15M, 15KÇ, 15Y, 15 H in Yuskyudar, and then get to the stop with the name Küçüksu.

In addition to the above and described beaches of Istanbul, you can also sunbathe and swim in the vicinity of Istanbul.

More normal beaches are located in the suburbs on the European coast of the capital, namely, in the Sariyer district. Places more suitable for swimming are Rumeli Feneri, Kilyos, Demirdzhikoy, Kysirkaya and Gumusdere. One of the cleanest beaches in the area is the beach located on the territory of the Uzunya Beach Club. The territory is well equipped, the infrastructure is developed normally. There is also Burc Beach Club, it is the territory of the Bosphorus University Alumni Association, this beach is sandy. There are various water and not only entertainments here: bananas, a catamaran, parachutes, football and volleyball. In addition, there are annual competitions in different types sports and concerts.

On the Black Sea coast, the beaches that belong to such clubs are considered more popular: Dalia Beach Club, NonStop Beach Club, Solar Beach Club and Golden Beach Club.

City beaches in Istanbul are not very clean, so swimming in them is not always safe. Although the city authorities are constantly taking measures to clean up the beach shores. There are about 83 bathing places in Istanbul and its suburbs, which are called the beaches of Istanbul. But this is far from the kind of service that is found on the resort beaches of the Mediterranean Sea.

For tourists visiting Istanbul, not only sightseeing is of no small importance, but also sea bathing. Istanbul is reminiscent of Venice in terms of the abundance of water: the city crosses the Bosphorus Strait, from the north side it is washed by the Black Sea, and from the south by the Sea of Marmara. But despite this a large number of water, in this large metropolis it is quite difficult for tourists to find a good place for swimming.

All the beaches of the city can be divided into private and urban. In Istanbul itself, there are several urban free beaches equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas and cabanas, showers and parking lots. The longest of them are Jaddebostan, stretching for 950 m on the Asian side of the city on the Sea of Marmara, as well as Menexe beach, located on the shores of Lake Küchukchekmece and having a length of about 650 m. But, nevertheless, rest on city beaches will not give that resort the atmosphere of relaxation that vacationers dream of, but will remind you of a large metropolis spread around.

Almost on the territory of the city center, the Renaissance Chamber Hotel is located, providing all tourists with the opportunity to combine a business trip to Istanbul with a holiday on the coast. The Sanhilere hotel is not inferior in comfort and attractiveness and provides guests with relaxation on a well-groomed pebble beach. Between the historical center and the business center of the capital of Turkey, there is a large five-star spa hotel Cassis Resort, which owns clean closed sandy and pebble beaches. Only clients rest on the beaches of the hotel. The five-star hotel "Marine Princess" has its own closed spacious beach on the Sea of Marmara and provides vacationers with branded sunbeds, umbrellas and towels.

Among the locals, the most popular beaches are located in the suburban area.

Holidays on the Princes' Islands are especially popular. Here are the dachas of the townspeople and there are well-equipped beaches, for the entrance to which you will have to pay from 200 to 700 rubles in terms of lira for rubles. The beaches of the islands offer many animation activities, sports games and tournaments for children and adults, catamarans, water skiing, boats, various theatrical performances on the coast. To spend your holidays on the islands, you can stay in small local hotels or hotels.

On the Black Sea coast, popular Turkish beaches are located in Kilyos, Sariyer, and on the coast of the Marmara Sea, these are the beaches of Agve and Şile, although it takes a long time to get to them. The nearest resorts on the Mediterranean Sea, which can be reached by commuter trains, are the Florya and Yesilköy area. The Golden Horn and the Bosphorus are also very popular. They are well equipped and the water is absolutely clean.

Holidays on the Bosphorus can be spent on Selena Beach Club beach, which in the past was called Tarabian beach. It is located in the Tarabya region, where the strait enters the Black Sea, and has been welcoming vacationers for the third decade. Pleasant music and a variety of sports entertainment will pleasantly decorate your vacation on the beach.

If you need to combine a business trip and leisure, then, of course, it is best to stay in a city hotel located in the coastal zone and relax on a private beach. And if it is possible to fully devote time to a beach holiday, then it is better to choose hotels or resorts away from the noisy city in order to get rid of negative consequences stress caused by the excessive pace of city life.

In the summer season, more and more Istanbul residents and city guests prefer to spend their weekends not in the hot center, but on the beaches. Contrary to popular belief that people don’t swim in Istanbul, we will tell you about the best beaches in the city, which, as it turned out, are in abundance in Istanbul and its environs. Despite the huge size of the city, getting to the places of rest is not so difficult. You just need to know exactly where you want to go. As in most coastal countries of the world, the best and most comfortable are private beaches, although there are public ones, as, for example, in Kilyos. In the southern part of the city, lovers of water recreation prefer to swim near the historical center in the Sea of Marmara. But the city's best beaches are in the "wild" northern part of Istanbul and beyond. So, let's focus on the best, in our opinion, beaches.

The easiest way to get to the beach is from the center of Sariyer, which can be reached by dolmush from any part of the city or, for example, from 4.Levent or ITU Ayazaga metro stations by buses 59RK, 25G or 42M. Bus 59RK provides direct access to Burc Beach and walks to Solar Beach. The entrance ticket costs 25 lira on weekdays and 40 lira on weekends and holidays.

One of the few private beaches in Istanbul that offers free Wi-Fi. Discos and concerts of famous performers in different genres are regularly held here. During concerts and events, the beach arranges a transfer from Darussafaka and (and back). Most of the beach visitors are students and young people. The beach is positioned as a trendy place for young people to relax outside the center of Istanbul. The beach is open daily from 9 am to 10 pm. The entrance fee to the territory is 15 liras on weekdays and 30 liras on weekends and holidays. Getting to the beach is easy. You need to get to the Haciosman metro station, go down to the bus stop and take bus 152 to Gumusdere, where you need to turn onto the beach alley and after 5 minutes go to the beach.

The beach stretches for a mile along the coastline and allows you to plunge into silence away from millions of people. At night, you can put up a tent on the beach and watch the stars to the sound of the sea. The beach has all the usual facilities and services. The beach is located next to Suma Beach and you need to get to it the same way, that is, get to the Haciosman metro station, go down to the bus stop and take bus 152 to Gumusdere, where you need to turn onto the beach alley and after 5 minutes go to the beach. The landmark is the police school. The beach is right behind it. The beach is open from 9 am to 9:30 pm. The ticket price is 10 liras on weekdays and 20 liras on weekends. The beach offers a paid pick-up service from the hotel - the driver will pick you up in the morning and take you back to the hotel in the evening. Istanbul is the main city of Turkey, it is inhabited by millions of inhabitants and annually visited by millions of tourists. The ancient capital of Byzantium is divided into European and Asian parts and is the third most populous city in Europe.

Usually, not so much fans of beach holidays come to Istanbul, but those who want to visit the ancient city, such as one of the largest covered markets in the world, which includes more than 60 streets and 18 mosques. But the summer heat makes you think about finding a place to swim.

In addition, vacationers here receive unique opportunity swim in two seas at once - the Marmara and the Black, the beaches of Istanbul offer to make a choice in favor of one of them or swim in both. Among the most popular holiday destinations in the largest Turkish city are the beaches of Kilyos and Jaddebostan, Florya and the Princes' Islands.

Coast of the Marmara Sea

The most famous holiday destination on the coast of the Marmara Sea is Jaddebostan. It is located in the Asian part of the city and includes three equipped beaches, the length of the coastal strip of each of them is from 250 to 450 meters. The sea itself in this area is quite shallow, so The water here warms up very quickly. and stays warm for a long time. There are sun loungers, showers, changing rooms.

Many vacationers can be found in the Fenerbahce Bay area. The beach here is not as big and crowded as Jaddebostan, but it is also equipped with everything you need - there are toilets, changing cabins, cafes and restaurants.

Florier beach is located in the European part of the Marmara coast. Guests are offered a full range of entertainment - from sports equipment rental to bars and discos. The coast is sandy, the entrance to the sea is convenient. True, it is located in the suburbs, some distance from Istanbul. Electric trains run to Florier station from Sirkeci station.

Black sea coast

The beaches of the Black Sea offer tourists the most sophisticated and varied recreation. Black Sea coast encircles the European part of Istanbul. There are several clubs that offer almost all types of outdoor activities. Uzunya Beach Club is considered one of the cleanest.

This is very important, given the fact that for a long time it was not even possible to swim in the seas of Istanbul for hygienic reasons. Today you can do it without any fear. Also, vacationers are recommended to visit a fish restaurant and spend the weekend at the campsite.

The Kilyos area includes several places for swimming in the Black Sea at once. Here mostly paid beaches are located, they offer vacationers a variety of entertainment, including rental of water equipment and discos. There is also one public beach in the area, you don't need to pay an entrance fee here. However, one must be prepared for a large number of vacationers, especially crowded on the beach on weekends.

In the eastern part of Istanbul, there is another resort area - Şile. It includes the beaches of Agva and Şile. The first offers to do water sports, ride a yacht, catch fish on your own in the Black Sea, or even go hunting. The second one is conducive to a more relaxing holiday, usually people come here just to sunbathe and swim. These places are very popular among residents, many here have their own villas exclusively for summer holiday. In addition to swimming, hiking is very popular here - the Šile district is distinguished by amazing landscapes: rocks, forests, lakes.

Coast of the Bosphorus

You can't visit Istanbul and not see the Bosphorus Strait. Thousands of ships sail through it every day, after all, Istanbul is the largest port connecting Europe and Asia. Traffic congestion significantly affects the environment, so swimming in these places is not recommended. However, there are several places in the Bosphorus where you can swim. Senela Beach Club is the most popular beach among tourists, it is located at the confluence of the Black Sea and the Bosphorus.

The beaches of the Princes' Islands

The Princes' Islands are a favorite vacation spot for Istanbul residents themselves. Here you can truly escape from the bustle of the city, immerse yourself in the peace and tranquility of the resort town. The sea in the area of the Princes' Islands is clear and warm. And on the coast, tourists will not see a single car, only bicycles and horse teams are allowed here.

You can get to the islands by ferry. and sea taxi. There are hotels and bungalows on the shore where you can spend the night and even stay for a couple of days. The beaches themselves offer a lot of entertainment, animators work, there are cafes and restaurants. The shortest road from Istanbul is to the island of Kinalyada.

Tourists usually come to ancient city not to see the beaches of Istanbul. There are 17 palaces, more than 60 mosques, many museums and historical sites. Visiting the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Bazaar, everyone will find a gift for friends and family. Here vacationers from all over the world buy souvenirs and oriental sweets. A beach holiday, although not the purpose of the visit, but most often becomes a pleasant addition to the main tourist route, allows you to relax and get distracted.

Istanbul stretches along the two banks of the Bosphorus - the strait, which is the connecting line between the two seas: the Black and Marmara. One side of the coast is called the European part of Istanbul, the second - the Asian. The weather conditions in the city are very pleasant and mild, more reminiscent of a subtropical zone, although there are some signs of a continental climate.

In summer, the Turkish metropolis is warm and comfortable - the average seasonal temperature ranges from 19 to 28⁰С. But sometimes the thermometer rises to the mark of 35⁰С.

Istanbul, probably, can be called the city of the sun, because every year it pleases its residents and guests with 2 thousand hours of sunshine. At the same time, the air is almost always humid. The greatest heat is observed from the beginning of July to the end of August.

During the summer months, Istanbul turns into a tourist paradise. During this period, travelers from literally all over the world come to the city. Hotels and hotel complexes of Sultanahmet - the most famous historical district of the metropolis - are always filled to capacity.

June

Istanbul is beautiful at any time of the year

In June, in Turkey, oddly enough, summer comes. But in Istanbul it is not only calendar, but also real. During the day, the air warms up to a temperature of 25⁰С, and in the afternoon it is even stronger - up to 30.5⁰С. During this period, the city is not only hot, but stuffy. It can be difficult to endure such weather, so people often find salvation in local green park areas, such as Emirgan or Gulkhane. By evening, the heat subsides, but the thermometer does not fall below 17 ⁰С. Evening time is perfect for going to catering establishments, which can be found in large numbers under the Galata Bridge. Countless cafes and restaurants open their doors to guests until late at night. A pleasant sea breeze can be quite chilly, so it's a good idea to throw on a windbreaker or other light, long-sleeved clothing. At the beginning of the first summer month, light rains are still possible, but after the first week, precipitation stops altogether.

The sea temperature cannot yet be called comfortable and suitable for long-term swimming, but already in the second half of June, the Bosphorus warms up to 21.3⁰С. So if you are going to Istanbul during this period, then it is quite possible to stock up on bathing suits and sunscreen cosmetics. After all, Istanbul in June is a heavenly place not only for connoisseurs of ancient culture and lovers of going to museums!

July

Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii)

The middle of summer pleases Istanbul residents and guests of the city with excellent weather. Average daily temperatures fluctuate in the range from 26 to 30⁰С. Of course, there are also hotter days, but not often. At the same time, the thermometer does not fall below 22⁰С. July is a great time to visit the local beach areas, swim and walk in light t-shirts and t-shirts.

Evenings can still be cool due to the proximity to the sea. But in any case, the air is not cooled below 20⁰С.

Rainy weather in Istanbul in July is a rarity. Precipitation is unlikely, because July is rightfully called the sunniest month of the year in the city. Strong winds blowing from the strait turn out to be most welcome: they refresh at least a little and bring coolness from the sea.

August

Warm evenings are conducive to walking around Istanbul

And in the last month of summer in Istanbul is hot. The average temperature in the daytime is 28⁰С, but often the air heats up to 25⁰С. Therefore, going to Istanbul in August, be sure to stock up on protective creams, sunglasses and light hats.

But at night in the city at this time it is also warm - not lower than 19⁰С. Therefore, rather than enterprisingly bring a warm wardrobe with you, it is better to ask in advance whether your hotel room will have a properly working air conditioner. Precipitation in Istanbul during this period is unlikely - it can rain only three days a month, and then for short periods.

Travelers coming to Istanbul need to know: no matter how exhausting the heat is, you should not be very naked here. Buy light clothes for the trip made of natural, airy fabrics - cotton, silk, etc. It is better not to wear synthetic T-shirts, blouses and shirts - this is fraught with overheating and severe skin irritation.

Women asking what to wear in summer in Istanbul may be advised to leave overly revealing outfits (plunging neckline dresses, high-cut skirts, etc.) at home. Otherwise, there are no special restrictions (except when you are going to visit a mosque). And be sure to take care of the presence of comfortable shoes: it can almost certainly be argued that you will walk a lot and for a long time around the city on foot.

Istanbul in summer: how to relax?

Istanbul, Golden Horn

The main reason why you should go to Istanbul in the summer (as, indeed, at any other time of the year) is the beautiful Turkish metropolis. A huge number of historical and architectural monuments have been collected on the territory of the city, which are of interest to tourists from all over the world. Istanbul for 2500 years has been a haven for completely different peoples and civilizations, which could not but affect its appearance. Istanbul sightseeing tours, including visits to museum complexes and art galleries, are always bright and interesting.

If your trip is already planned, then you should start by compiling and choosing other places for summer walks: areas, and also, after a long day full of impressions, you should definitely relax in one of them.

What routes are worth choosing in the summer?

Of course, in the summer heat it is more pleasant to be near the water, so you can finish the walk near the embankment. For example, you can spend most of your time on the promenade, and at the end of the walk, relax in a tea room on soft pillows on the Salajak pier, directly opposite.

Plan to visit attractions in the morning (especially in), this will avoid long queues and hot heat during the day. For the daytime, the hottest period, you can plan a visit to or museums. For example, this is not only a unique Byzantine attraction, but also a great cool shelter from the sun and heat. Another, more ancient cistern, not far from the Basilica - (entrance to it is free).

Thus, in the morning it is better to visit the most popular sights, in the daytime - museums and palaces, and in the evening take a walk closer to the sea.

It will be nice to sail to the Asian side of the city, to Kadikoy - a short ferry ride will diversify your vacation.

In any season, the doors of large Istanbul shopping centers are open for travelers, which offer goods for every taste and budget. As a rule, during the summer period, the city hosts the largest event called "Istanbul Shopping Festival". During this period, various tour operators offer impressive discounts on air travel; hotels, restaurants and shops also organize special conditions for tourists.

Istanbul beaches

It is summer - best time to enjoy the beauty of Istanbul's beaches, bask in the sun and soak up the warm waves of the Marmara and Black Seas. The swimming season in Istanbul opens in the last month of spring and continues until the end of September - beginning of October. Beach holidays in the metropolis cannot be called primitive: the infrastructure here is very developed, so the rest will be not only pleasant, but also comfortable in any part of the city. I advise you to limit yourself to the beaches located on the European side or on the Princes' Islands - it is more convenient to get to them than to the Black Sea beaches on the Asian side (Sile and Agva).

Beaches on the Princes' Islands (Adalar)

Elio beach on the Princes' Islands

The beaches of Kilyos

Kilyos is a small village near Stambu

Kilyos is a fishing village located in the European part of Istanbul on the Black Sea coast. There are many sandy beaches and fish restaurants.

The popularity of this place is explained by the fact that Kilyos is located 30 kilometers from Istanbul and you can get here by public transport. The road to the beaches runs through the beautiful Belgrade Forest.

You can swim in Kilyos only on the beaches, in specially designated areas - the thing is that there are dangerous undercurrents here, so swimming behind the buoys and swimming far is not recommended here.

The cost of visiting the beaches is about the same, only the concepts of relaxation differ - somewhere there are more young people, other beaches are more suitable for a relaxing or family vacation.

On average, the cost of entering the beach and renting sun loungers varies from 20 to 40 lira.

How to get to Quillos?

Getting to Kilyos is quite easy, you can leave Taksim by bus 25T, from Kabatas 25E, from Besiktas 40B. All these buses go to the Sarıyer area (Sariyer), so you need to get off at the Hacıosman Metro stop (Hacıosman) and transfer to bus 151, take it to the Kilyos Merkez stop (Kilyos Merkez). Then walk to the beach.

Şile and Agva on the Asian side of Istanbul

The lighthouse is a famous landmark in Šile

Once in Istanbul on the Black Sea, be sure to visit the famous resort areas of Agva and Shile and enjoy the beauty of local beaches. A clean, pleasant-looking beach strip stretches along the coast for as much as 60 km. There is only one drawback of these beaches - they are quite far from the central part of the city (in the north direction from Uskudar).

What to do in Shila

In Šile, you can not only swim in the Black Sea and sunbathe on the beach, but also look at local attractions - the Šile lighthouse and the fortress on the island of Odzhakly.

The lighthouse, which is the symbol of Şile, was built in 1859 by order of Sultan Abdulaziz in order to help ships enter the Bosphorus. It is located on a huge sheer cliff. It was built by engineers from France in 1859. It is the second largest lighthouse in the world and the largest operating lighthouse in Turkey. The lighthouse functions to this day, and is also open as a museum. This modest museum has a small collection of various lamps and light bulbs, ancient mechanisms. The museum is open from May to August from 10:00 to 16:00, except Mondays.

The fortress on the island of Ojakli is visible from the coastline. Unfortunately, the fortress was not restored by the most in a good way, although it is of historical value. According to one version, it was erected by the Byzantine emperor Andronicus, according to another, by the Genoese. It served as an excellent observation post and protected the city from raids from the sea.

In the eastern part of Šile, not far from the locally famous lighthouse, a spring flows right in the middle of the rocks. interesting name Weeping rocks. This name is not accidental: if you look closely, you can see the appearance of a weeping human face on the rocky walls.

You can get from Istanbul to Şile and Agva by buses No. 139 (in Şile) and No. 139A (in Şile and Agva), departing from the Harem Otogar bus station. Buses run from 6:30 am to 12 am (No. 139), and from 6:00 am to 8:30 pm (No. 139A).

The coast at Imrenli Koyu village in Shila

Since the beaches of Şile are located on the same coastline, you just have to walk along the sea and choose the one you like. The cost of entry to the beaches of Şile ranges from 20 to 50 lire.

I would single out two beaches here - this is a public beach and Life Beach (which is located on the part of Ağlayankaya Plajı - Ağlayankaya).

Şile public beach (Halk plajı)

Entrance to the public beach is free, you can lay down your towel and enjoy your holiday. Please note that on holidays (bairam) and weekends there are a lot of people on the beach. The cost of renting a sun lounger is 20 lire.

Life Beach

In my opinion, this is the cleanest, calmest and most well-groomed beach in Shila. The sand is always cleaned here, there is no garbage and algae, unobtrusive service and no too loud music. The beach is suitable for a relaxing holiday, relaxing with children, it is filled only on weekends, but there is no feeling of a crowd. On weekdays it is very calm and quiet here.

There is a cafe on the beach where you can have breakfast or lunch, in the menu different kinds meat and seafood.

As mentioned above, Life Beach is located on the coastline of Ağlayankaya Plajı - Ağlayankaya, so to find it, you need to specify that you want to get to Ağlayankaya. To do this, we take bus 139, which departs from the bus station near the Yuskyudar pier and exit at the final Şile Terminal. Then you can get to Ağlayankaya Plajı by taxi (2 km).

Entrance fee 40 liras on weekdays, 50 liras on weekends.

Pavilion rental - 150 lira.

Life Beach on the map:

Many hotels in Shila are located on the seashore, so you can watch the picture of sunsets and sunrises against the sea background. The easiest option is to look at the options online:

Agva

Agva resort is a place of calm and tranquility

The name of the resort is translated from Latin as "A Village Between Two Rivers". This settlement is located at a decent distance from Istanbul - 100 km. From Şile to Agva 50 km. Belgrade Forest ( Belgrade OrmanI)- quiet walk and picnic

Belgrade forest in Istanbul

For those who love nature and prefer to relax without fuss, it is recommended to visit the urban green areas, which include the Belgrade Forest.

In 1521, Sultan Suleiman returned from a campaign and, together with the army, brought many captured Serbs. The name of the forest comes from the village of Belgradköy (Belgrad Köyü), which they later founded - here, to the north of the city, they were allowed to settle.

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the one who cut down a branch in the Belgrade forest was cut off his hand, and the one who cut down the tree was cut off his head.

Today, this wonderful forest occupies 5.5 thousand hectares, and about 4 kilometers separate it from the sea coast.

In the Belgrade forest, relict trees have survived to this day, the age of which is several hundred years.

In the Belgrade forest you can take a walk and relax in a cafe

This park, with a well-developed tourist infrastructure, has everything you need for a pleasant and relaxing pastime, including equipped picnic areas, cafes and comfortable jogging tracks. Here you can relax from the noise of the metropolis, the sultry heat and listen to the birds singing.

With the onset of darkness, life in the city boils even more. Surrounded by the evening coolness, hundreds of tourists head to local restaurants and bars, which warmly welcome guests and immerse them in a cozy atmosphere. Many catering establishments set tables directly in the fresh air, and some even equip special terraces on the roofs of buildings. These terraces offer magnificent views of the city panorama. Therefore, tourists come here not only to pacify their appetite, but also to admire the beauties of Istanbul. Beyoglu and Karakoy are considered the busiest areas of the metropolis at night.
