What mobile communication works in the Crimea today. Mobile Internet in Crimea: features of work

Alexander Grishin

The time has come for vacations and seas, which means it's time to find out which mobile operators are in Crimea in 2017. In addition, we will tell you which operator's number starts with 978 and how to contact MTS support.

So, in 2018, the following mobile operators operate in Crimea:

  1. win mobile;
  2. Wave mobile;
  3. Krymtelecom;
  4. SevMobile.

win mobile

Win Mobile was the first Russian operator in Crimea to operate. It offers users 3 tariffs:

  • "Freedom of Communication"
  • "Fast and Furious"
  • "On the sea"

For the Crimeans, the most profitable first. Within the Win Mobile network, you can communicate for free an hour a day, calls to other operators in the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory cost only 1 ruble per minute, but calls within Russia cost 9.5 rubles / minute. Of the minuses, communication is not available in all regions of the peninsula, since the operator still has few towers and base stations.

MTS

The largest operator of these is MTS Russia. It started working on the territory of Crimea since the summer of 2014 and confidently occupies a leading position in terms of the number of connected numbers among the inhabitants of the peninsula.

MTS has excellent coverage, communication works well in almost all corners. The best choice for users is the Super MTS tariff without a monthly fee. 20 free minutes are given per day for calls within the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.

For everyone who goes to rest in the Crimea from Russia, we recommend choosing MTS - it will be the least of all problems!

Wave Mobile

On June 15, 2016, the Volna Mobile operator began to work in Crimea. It has 3 tariffs (“Sea”, “Sun” and “Wind”), of which the most attractive is “Sea”. For 150 rubles per month, you can talk within the network without restrictions and use the Internet at a speed of 32 Kbps. In addition, subscribers are given 300 free minutes for calls to numbers of other operators in Crimea and the neighboring Krasnodar Territory.

Krymtelecom

From June 1, 2019, in accordance with articles 46 and 54 of the federal law "On Communications", national and intranet roaming in the territory of the Russian Federation has been canceled. Subscribers of Russian mobile operators do not overpay for calls if they are not in their “home region”. The innovation also affected the Crimea and Sevastopol, local regional operators are already working according to the new standards.

Crimea, which has been part of Russia for a decent period of time, nevertheless still experiences some kind of difficulties in terms of cellular communications. The fact is that the Big Four operators (Megafon, Beeline, Tele2) never entered the peninsula, and tourist subscribers of one or another operator find themselves in roaming.

We remind you that roaming is the process of providing services to a subscriber who is in the "guest" network, i.e. outside the "home" service area. Roaming can be regional (intranet) and national (internet). The process of canceling intranet roaming in Russia was completed in the first half of 2018 (among the consequences of this innovation is an increase in the cost of communication, but this is another topic).

Roaming in Crimea is a separate headache for tourists who are going to visit local resorts. However, each of the mobile operators is ready to offer subscribers either services or special options designed to make their vacation easier and somewhat reduce costs.

How to activate roaming in Crimea? This happens either automatically, when the phone itself registers in the local network (like Beeline), or manually, when it comes to additional options and services (like Tele2).

MTS: roaming in Crimea 2020

The only operator from the Big Four, which is represented on the peninsula, albeit unofficially, is MTS. In April 2018, MTS singled out Crimea as a separate region (originally it belonged to the Krasnodar Territory).

There is national roaming for MTS subscribers in Crimea. The company offers several savings options for those who travel to the peninsula with their SIM card.

  • "Home package Russia" (subscription fee - 15 rubles per day of use)
  • "Home package Russia +" (subscription fee - 100 rubles per month)
  • "Everywhere at home Russia" (subscription fee - 5 rubles per day)

Attention! Options are not available for all tariff plans. Read the descriptions about which specific options operate on which specific tariffs.

The most profitable for trips to the Crimea are the tariffs of the "Smart" line.

Megafon: roaming in Crimea 2020

For its subscribers who are going to relax on the peninsula, Megafon offers to connect the option "Crimea". It is available for all tariffs (with the exception of “Around the World”).

  • Incoming calls at the time of rest in the Crimea - 0 rubles.
  • Outgoing calls - 4 rubles / minute.
  • Outgoing SMS - 3 rubles.
  • Internet - 5 rubles / 1 Mb.

The service is connected free of charge.

The subscription fee is 15 rubles per day.

There is one nuance (in fact, there are several of them, and the description of the service is worth reading in full): if you call and send messages to phones with Ukrainian numbering in Crimea, they will be evaluated as outgoing calls and SMS to Ukraine (35 rubles per minute, 5, 95 rubles per SMS).

Beeline: roaming in Crimea 2020

National roaming is available for Beeline subscribers on the peninsula. You do not need to connect anything: the phone will register in the partner network automatically.

  • Incoming calls are free.
  • Outgoing SMS - 2.03 rubles.
  • Outgoing calls to Russian numbers - 2.03 rubles.
  • Internet - 2.03 rubles / 1 Mb for the first 3 Mb per day, then a 110 Mb package is provided (203.39 rubles per day), then, when the package ends, the cost is 2.03 rubles / Mb until the end of the day.

Please note that many Beeline connected services are not provided in Crimea. The same is true for Internet traffic packages. Check these points in the call center so as not to pay extra.

Tele2: roaming in Crimea 2020

What will please the Tele2 operator? First, the basic prices in roaming.

  • Incoming calls - 1 ruble / minute.
  • Outgoing calls to Russian numbers - 3 rubles / minute.
  • Outgoing SMS - 3 rubles.
  • Internet - 3 rubles / 1 Mb.

Secondly, you can connect the service "Easy Internet on the Peninsula".

Hello everyone, my dears! I do not like to write about the negative, but it is better to be prepared for the bad than to suddenly face it face to face. Today I will tell you what cellular communication is in Crimea, why everything is bad with it, and what a tourist needs to do.

I’ll make a reservation right away that our trip took place in May 2015, but at the time of this writing, the information remains relevant. So...

In this article:

What is the main communication problem in Crimea

When we went to the Crimea, we did not suspect that everything would be SO bad with the purchase of the card. Yes, and this is the main problem we faced: it takes a lot of effort to buy a SIM card.

We unloaded on the peninsula from the ferry at night. At the same moment, our beeline stopped working. All communication salons of Kerch, of course, are closed. We decided that we would buy a SIM card in Sevastopol, but when we arrived in it, we had to look for SIM cards for about 2 hours!

How it was.

We stopped in a fairly busy place: a small shopping center, many shops, a vegetable market. By a certain logic, we decided that SIM cards should be sold somewhere in all this diversity. Well, simply because in such places we always have a small cell phone salon, a counter or something like that.

I'm not talking about the fact that in such busy places of different salons there can be several pieces in a row at once.

But this was not the case here. We went to shops, salons with telephones, pavilions at bus stops. NOTHING. We asked sellers where you can buy a SIM card. They just thought and could not say anything, but at the same time everyone had a smartphone in their hand. The question "where did you personally buy your SIM card?" also remained unanswered.

But we couldn’t give up, we had to contact the owner of the guest house in which we later lived.

I remember that we went to the Technopoint store, where we were sent to the shopping center, which was located on the first floor of a neighboring house. Here we found a point in it, which, in addition to the main goods (electronics and other things), was engaged in the sale of SIM cards. True, we had to wait until the seller returned from lunch, but this did not frighten us.

As a result, in half an hour the card was in our hands, more precisely, in our phone.

Then, when we got to know the city better, we noticed that there are cell phone stores, but there are really few of them. After this, I want to bow to the waist to the owners of the Svyaznoy network, Euroset, MTS and others, for the fact that they are 5 minutes from my house and any stop. Here is a human thank you.

But let's go back to the moment where we were near the pavilion and purchased a SIM card. We were offered a choice of 2 operators: MTS and WIN. Let me briefly talk about each.

Which operators are currently working in Crimea

1. MTS

I must say right away that I have not seen MTS salons in Crimea, but instead of them you can meet people on the streets who sell SIM cards right from the table. In season they can be found on Nakhimov Avenue and on Lenin Street.

Now about the prices. MTS seemed to us more profitable at that time for calls within Russia than its competitor. The tariff was called "Super-MTS" Krasnodar Territory:

  • a SIM card costs 50 rubles and they immediately appear on the account
  • calls within the Crimea and Krasnodar 20 minutes a day for free, then 0.5 rubles per minute
  • calls to Russia cost 10 rubles per minute, but you can activate the "Favorite country" service for 50 rubles per month, and calls will cost 3.5 rubles per minute
  • as for the Internet, here you also need to connect the package, otherwise it will be expensive.

I do not know if it is possible to buy MTS in advance in Russia, go to the MTS communication salon and find out there. To be honest, I tried to find out this issue through the support service, but:

  • MTS does not distribute information about tariffs in Crimea on its website.
  • To get through to them, I had to hang on the wire for 1.5 hours, after which the call was interrupted, this is a real tin.

2. WIN

Salons of this operator can be found on the streets of Sevastopol. Not very often, but still. You can see the rates at his official website.

And below I will briefly list the cost of calls to Russia at the “Freedom of Communication” tariff:

  • a SIM card costs 50 rubles and this amount appears on the account
  • calls to Russia cost 9.5 rubles per minute, but you can activate the My Russia service, which costs 15 rubles one-time + 2 rubles subscription fee per day, but calls will cost 2 rubles per minute.
  • calls to Krasnodar Territory and Crimea cost 1 ruble per minute
  • Internet 10 rubles per 1 Mb, but you can connect packages with a subscription fee of 3 rubles per day.

In general, if I chose this operator, it would be only because of the Internet. He has an interesting tariff called "Forsage", which we then did not pay attention to. Pay 400 rubles per month and you have 5 GB of daytime and 5 GB of night Internet, that is, 10 GB of Internet! You can just call on skype, viber and call through social networks. But calls in this case will be expensive.

3. Beeline

Beeline for Crimea offers to activate the My Country service. Naturally, you need to connect it in advance, before entering the peninsula. So, how much does roaming cost:

  • service connection costs 25 rubles
  • incoming calls for the 1st minute cost 3 rubles, for the next - for free
  • outgoing within Russia - 3 rubles per minute
  • SMS within Russia - 3 rubles per minute

In addition, for roaming, you must have a certain amount of money on your account. If my memory serves me right - 500 rubles. But in my opinion, for calls, this is one of the best and easiest options. As for the Internet, everything is not so rosy here - 10 rubles per 1 MB.

Let me summarize a little. If it is important for you to be in touch immediately after crossing the bay, you need to worry about a SIM card in advance: either it will be MTS or Beeline with roaming. If this is not important for you, you can buy a SIM card on the spot, in the salon. I would prefer at the moment the Internet tariff from WIN.

Here is a review, my dear. I really hope this article was helpful to you. I am waiting for your comments and questions, ask, we will figure it out together. In addition, I suggest you read an article about

MTS roaming in Crimea: available or not in 2020? A similar question is asked by many people. You need to understand the situation and how to subsequently solve the problems that arise.

The situation regarding the peninsula is ambiguous. Now there is only one operator in Crimea - K-Telecom. Russian companies have signed contracts with him to provide roaming services.

The quality of communication is inferior to both Russia and Ukraine. To access the Internet, second-generation technologies are used. You can access sites only through undemanding browsers, like Opera Mini. Chrome gives connection errors.

Russian operators cannot provide communications to the peninsula. Companies will quickly find themselves under sanctions. What does this mean for them:

  1. Loss of foreign business. Recall that MTS has a subsidiary in Ukraine.
  2. Serious losses.
  3. Problems with the purchase of equipment. Updating and maintenance of networks is carried out using foreign-made equipment.

The risks for companies are too high. Despite the calls of short-sighted politicians, the Government and the State Duma are in no hurry to oblige operators to work on the peninsula. The authorities understand that they will cause serious blow by organizations, may leave them without foreign equipment, which will lead to the inability to maintain and improve networks throughout Russia. Unfortunately, in technological terms, the country depends on China, Europe and the United States.

Is there roaming in Crimea MTS?

Officially, the company declares that it has international roaming on the territory of the peninsula. In fact, he is domestic. You can use communication services as when traveling to other regions.

The company does not confirm its presence in Crimea. She does not have her own communication salons and networks. But the operator's SIM cards can be purchased from third-party dealers, in various stores.

With a high probability, the situation will remain the same until the sanctions are lifted. The operator made it clear that as long as there are restrictions on Crimea, the company will not create a network on its territory.

The company can be understood, experts support the decision of Russian operators.

It is necessary to separate patriotism and business, weigh all the risks and make an informed decision. Companies are too likely to have problems.

It would be right for the state to create a domestic operator and build a network in Crimea. But it all comes down to hardware. Russia does not have its own equipment production, and foreign companies do not want to supply equipment for use on the peninsula.

Roaming MTS in Crimea in 2020: tariffs

MTS roaming in Crimea in 2020 is domestic. Today, the operator offers a range of Smart tariffs for residents of the country. You can connect to them in the Crimea.

But according to the programs, a subscription fee is charged when you are in roaming - 15 rubles per day. To exclude it, you will need to use the All Russia Smart service. Options conditions:

  • Subscription fee - 100 rubles per month.
  • You can use mobile communication services under standard conditions while in domestic roaming.
  • Accrual of additional AP at the tariff from the Smart line is excluded.

Of course, the presence of such an option leads to an increase in the cost of communication services. But the inhabitants of the peninsula do not have to choose, there are not so many options.

How to activate roaming

You do not need to connect directly to roaming. When you are on the territory of another region, it is activated automatically. It is not necessary to carry out additional manipulations.

To activate the All Russia Smart service you will need:

  1. Dial the command *111*1031# . Select the appropriate item and activate.
  2. You can go to Personal Area. Pass authorization, from the main page move to the section with options. Find the service among the list of options and connect it.

How to disable

You can deactivate the service in the following ways:

  • Log in to your personal account. Open the section with connected options, select All Russia Smart and disable it.
  • Send a request to *111*1031# .

Tariff for application in Crimea

In order not to use additional services, you can choose the Zabugorishche tariff. Suggested conditions:

  1. 7 GB internet is provided.
  2. 350 minutes are issued for all networks.
  3. Unlimited calls to MTS.
  4. There are 350 SMS.
  5. An "Online" option is provided for unlimited access to social networks.
  6. Subscription fee - 175 rubles per week.
  7. Conditions are maintained throughout Russia, including Crimea.

It is important that all packages are designed for a week. Available a large number of SMS, minutes and traffic. Packages are updated every week. You can activate the tariff using the command *111*1025*1# . You can also make the transition in your personal account.

There are five companies in Crimea that provide services to mobile subscribers. The most developed infrastructure is available in large cities of the republic and places of tourist recreation, including on the South Coast and in the water area along the coast. The subject of the federation does not have its own mobile operators, although in early 2015 the Crimean authorities announced the creation of a local operator. There are no virtual operators either.

Mobile operators

The fourth is Beeline, which serves customers in international roaming mode. Accordingly, the billing is much higher than others. Representatives of Beeline promise that in the near future they will change their pricing policy and switch to domestic roaming.

The fifth is Megafon, it also works in international roaming mode, but its services are much cheaper than those of Beeline.

In the future, the Crimean authorities will launch their own operator. For this, it is planned to use the former property of the Ukrainian company Kyivstar. According to the Minister of Communications of the Republic, such a need exists due to the fact that many Russian operators are afraid to enter the local market of telecommunications services due to the threat of sanctions. For the same reason, there are no foreign cellular companies in the republic.

Where to buy SIM cards

It is recommended to purchase the MTS starter package in the Krasnodar region, on the way to the Crimea. You can do this in supermarket chains, large stores and branded points of sale. You will have to pay 50 rubles for the purchase of a starter package, but this amount will already be in your account. After activating the SIM card, disable unnecessary services and enable the option of free calls to MTS Russia 100 subscribers.

The same applies to TELE2 and Megafon - just buy their starter packs. Win Mobile is connected in a different way: manually select the Win Mobile, 25032 or Rus 32 network in the phone settings. All SIM cards originating from Russia will automatically be connected to this network. You can use Beeline services by connecting to Life or K-Telecom networks.
Call and internet prices

Tariff comparison

Calls and SMS

The most profitable offers are from MTS. True, you need to buy only those SIM-cards that are sold in the Krasnodar Territory. If you activate the Super MTS tariff and the option of free calls to MTS Russia 100, the operator will provide 100 minutes of free communication with subscribers of this network daily.

After this limit is exhausted, the price of a minute of conversation will be 50 kopecks with MTS Krasnodar users and 3 rubles. - with users of MTS Russia. The cost of sending an SMS is 1.5 rubles, but if you buy the SMS Smart package together with an operator card, all text messages will be free for an unlimited time.

If we compare the tariffs of the Krasnodar MTS with the prices for the services of Megafon, TELE2 and Beeline, the advantages of the former become especially noticeable:

Comparison of mobile tariffs in Crimea

Beeline has a nuance: the user's account must have at least 600 rubles. If you do not have this amount, you will not be able to make calls and send SMS.

Internet

The most favorable rates for the use of mobile Internet in the Crimea are offered by MTS. Subscribers on the peninsula can activate such tariffs as:

  • Internet Super - costs 900 rubles. per month, the user receives 25 gigabytes of traffic;
  • Internet Maxi - 700 rubles. per month, 15 gigabytes of traffic;
  • Internet Mini - 400 rubles. per month, 5 gigabytes of traffic;
  • "BIT" - 200 rubles. per month, the tariff is valid only in the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea;
  • "Super BIT" - 150 rubles. per month, 3 gigabytes of traffic.

Other cellular communication companies offer global network connection services much more expensively. For example, Megafon offers to use the Internet at a price of 190 rubles per megabyte.

The exception is Win Mobile, the only operator in Crimea with its own equipment. The company offers the "Online Freedom" tariff, which provides access to unlimited Internet at a price of 3 rubles. per day, that is, in total, you will have to pay about 90 rubles per month. The cost of connecting the service is 30 rubles. You can also use tariff plans"Online Month" and "Online Day", depending on the time during which the Win Mobile subscriber needs mobile Internet.

Roaming

Roaming when calling to Russia is valid for all companies, with the exception of MTS Krasnodar. Note that TELE2 has set different prices for calls abroad. Communication with subscribers in the CIS countries will cost 25 rubles per minute, in Europe - 45, in other countries of the world - 65. The same applies to SMS: sending a text message to a client of another international mobile operator will cost 5.5 rubles.
