How to get to pattaya from bangkok airport. How to get cheap from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya

Good afternoon friends. One of the most popular destinations in Thailand is the beach resort of Pattaya. It is understandable - this is the closest resort from Bangkok, only 110 km. 2-3 hours on the road and you are there.

Most often, people leave for Pattaya from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport. There are of course other ways and routes - expensive and budget. But still, for starters, I'll tell you how to get from Bangkok airport to Pattaya. After this option, I do not write about others.

The most convenient and inexpensive option to get to Pattaya is by bus. There are several carrier companies:

Airport Pattaya Bus (aka Bus No. 389)- the transport of this company is easily recognizable by its blue and white coloring. You can buy a ticket on the first floor of level 1, between gate 7 and 8. Passengers boarding is done there. The ticket price is 122 baht (approximately $3.40). Travel time is 2 hours. Departure every hour starting from 7 am, at 22.00 the last flight. The final station is the southern station, Jomyen district. (intersection of Tappraya and Tepprazit streets).

Important! If you miss your flight, you will have to buy another ticket.

Bell Travel Service Co is another bus company. There are 6 flights a day to Pattaya from the airport: 08:00, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00. Price: 250 baht if purchased locally, 230 baht if purchased online on the company's website or on site, again next to exit 8 from the airport on the ground floor.

The bus goes to the northern station. At the station, you are transferred to a minibus and taken directly to your hotel. You don't have to pay.

Important! If suddenly you missed your flight (you bought a ticket in advance, your plane was late and the bus left without you), then the company will put you on the next one.

Shuttle Buses. They depart from the bus terminal. From the airport - 10 minutes by free shuttle. There are several bus companies. Ticket price from 105 to 250 baht. Opening hours: from 6.30 to 21.00.

Note! If the buses have red stripes on the sides, these are cheap buses. They will take you to the North or South Pattaya Bus Station. They go with all possible stops, so the travel time can take 3-4 hours. Other buses are more expensive - from 200 baht per ticket, they will take you to the hotel, with a transfer to the minibus. Read more about scheduled buses on the official website.

Taxi

If you arrived at night, then you can’t leave by bus, because. companies transport passengers only from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm. You have two options: either wait for the morning and buy a ticket for the earliest bus flight, or get to Pattaya by taxi.

Taxi fare from 1500 baht. Depends on where you take the car:

If at the counters in the arrivals area (on the second floor) - this is the most expensive option - 2500-300 baht.
If you go outside on the second floor, the price will drop to 2000 baht.

If you go up to the 4th floor, where taxi drivers drop off passengers, you can negotiate with the driver for 1500 baht.

With any choice, you should have an agreement with taxi drivers like this: either you agree on the exact amount, or you go by the meter. The taxi driver must turn on the meter with you .

Transfer

There is another convenient, but not budget option. Order transfer in advance from Russia via the Internet. You can order a transfer to Pattaya online using the form below. At the time of booking, you need to pay about 15% of the transfer cost, pay the rest in cash to the driver.

How to get from Bangkok to Pattaya

If you are staying in the tourist area of Kasoan Road, then from hotel or guesthouse in which you live, you can order a taxi to Pattaya (about 3000 baht) or buy a ticket at local travel agencies (there are many on the streets) Bangkok-Pattaya transfer. Ticket price is approximately 200 baht.

By bus from Ekkamai East Station

We have written a separate article about Bangkok bus stations. You can read it. I can only say that the Ekkamai bus station is very close to the Ekkamai metro station.

Buses to Pattaya run every half an hour. Opening hours: from 5 am to 22.00. All buses are comfortable and air conditioned. Express travel time is 2 hours. Ticket price 100 baht. Buses come to North Pattaya street.

Before buying a ticket, make sure that this is an express bus and not a local bus. The travel time of a regular bus with all stops can take 4 hours. And the drop off point could be the outskirts of Pattaya or Sukhumvit Road.

Bus from MoChit North Station

MoChit Northern Bus Station is the closest to Don Muang Airport. The option is convenient for those who arrive at this airport.

Take the MRT to Chatuchak Park (MRT) or Mo Chit (BTS Skytrain). The stations are 50 meters apart. From them to the bus station 1.5 km.

Buses from North Station to Pattaya run every half an hour or an hour. Opening hours: from 5 am to 19.00. All are comfortable and air-conditioned. Express travel time is 2 hours. Ticket price 100 baht. The final station is North Pattaya Street.

This method is longer than the South Station option. In addition, it is not very convenient if you are with suitcases: from the station to the station (1.5 km) - about 15-20 on foot. You can, of course, take a tuk-tuk or take bus number 130. The map of where the station is located is shown below.

Minivans from Victory Monument

The bus station is located 150 meters from the Victory Monument metro station of the same name. Minibuses leave from here not only to Pattaya, but also to other cities and resorts in Thailand. They go often, the ticket price is 150 baht.

One disadvantage: if you have a large number of suitcases and minibus will be fully loaded with other tourists with their suitcases, then the trip will most likely not be as comfortable as on the bus. There will be things at the feet and in the row, it will be problematic to sit comfortably.

Buses from Bangkok Airport to Pattaya run at intervals of 1 hour, starting from 7-00 to 10-00, daily, including holidays and weekends. This route has been operating since the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport in 2006, and over the past 10 years, ticket prices have gone down rather than up.

Where is the bus stop from the airport to Pattaya

The bus ticket counter to Pattaya is located on the 1st floor of the airport building (a floor above the underground entrance to the subway), near exit No. 8. Buses to Pattaya stop right in front of this exit, all lucky ticket holders are waiting for buses not on the street, but next to the ticket counter, they are clearly informed about the arrival of the bus.

Note. There are no signs to the buses going to Pattaya in the airport building, and it would be nice to remember the location of the above counter, otherwise, you will have to check its location with the servants of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

How long does it take to travel from Bangkok International Airport to Pattaya

The distance between Suvarnabhumi Airport, the main airport of Bangkok, and Pattaya is 120 km. Taking into account the fact that traffic jams regularly occur in Pattaya itself and the immediate surroundings of this city, a bus trip along this route takes 2 hours.

One would expect that a taxi ride from the airport to Pattaya would take less time, but this is not the case. In accordance with local traditions, large vehicles on the road always have an advantage, and buses in Pattaya traffic jams easily push taxis aside.

What are the buses operating on the route Bangkok Airport - Pattaya

Comfortable and air-conditioned full-size buses run from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya (not minibuses, notorious for their low level comfort).

This route is operated by Roong Reuang Co. Ltd. , a carrier certified by the authorities, which has a concession from the Thai Department of Transportation to operate bus routes along route No. 389, this is the number assigned to flights from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Pattaya, and vice versa, from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Where do the buses operating on route 389 stop, Bangkok Airport - Pattaya.

In Pattaya, buses of the 389th route make 5 stops, at the turn from the highway to north, central and south Pattaya, near the carrier's office on Thepprasit road, and at the final stop, in Jomtien. The last two buses, departing from the airport at 21-00 and 22-00, make only 1 stop in Pattaya, at the North Pattaya Bus Terminal.

When buying a bus ticket, you will have the choice of buying a simple ticket to Pattaya, which costs a little more than 100 baht, or a transfer to the door of the hotel, which costs 250 baht. In the latter case, upon arrival at the carrier's office on Thepprasit road, you will be transferred to a minibus, which will take all the owners of such a transfer to the appropriate hotels.

As a rule, there is no practical need to buy a transfer to the hotel door. In Pattaya, every bus coming from Bangkok is guarded by a whole cloud of local taxi drivers, and you will only need to bargain with them about the price, which usually turns around 50 baht. In the event that you go to the final stop, you will have the opportunity to transfer to a songthaew (a local version of a fixed-route taxi), and get to desired point for 10 - 20 baht.

Prohibition of drinking alcoholic beverages on buses and public transport

It would be nice to know about this feature of Thai law if you do not want to receive a fine of several thousand baht. The ban on the consumption of alcohol, including beer, applies to all types of road transport without exception, incl. buses, taxis and motorbikes. The ban applies not only to drivers, which is quite expected, but also to passengers.

August 10, 2012. Occupants of vehicles of any kind who drink alcohol during travel are now subject to six months imprisonment and/or a Bt60,000 fine, the Office of Alcoholic Beverages announced yesterday. The penalties will also be imposed on drinkers in vehicles parked on sidewalks or shoulders of public roads, including sois, regardless of whether the vehicles are moving, OAB director Samarn Footrakool said. Drinking occupants and drivers will be equally liable for such violations. "The only exceptions under this law are occupants of vehicles parked in front of their homes," he said.

If you want to save money, you have few things and have time, then choose the bus. If you want comfort after a hard flight -.

After passing through customs control and receiving luggage, you need to change yours for local ones. It's best to do it yourself. ground floor, next to the ticket offices of the metro line. The rate there is better than in other places of the airport (and, as it seemed, Pattaya).

Keep in mind that exchange offices in Thailand (and even in Pattaya) are not open around the clock, so if you find yourself there after 8 pm, you may not have time to exchange currency for a hotel and expenses for the evening. Alternatively, there are ATMs at airports where you can withdraw cash from your card.

Nevertheless, after Bangkok, here we rested for a couple of hours in body and soul ...
