Pet technology. Institute of Nuclear Medicine Medical Center for Nuclear Medicine

Center for Nuclear Medicine and Positron Emission Tomography ChRZD-Medicine is an expansion and renewal of the radioisotope diagnostics laboratory, which was organized in 1959.

The center conducts diagnostic , and the studies are called single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET). Since these studies are combined with X-ray computed tomography(CT), their full names are SPECT/CT and PET/CT.

SPECT/CT methods are widely used in oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, nephrology and other fields. This technique is used to assess the functional state of organs and systems. The Center conducts a wide range of studies: bone scintigraphy, scintigraphy thyroid gland and parathyroid glands, scintigraphy of cardio-vascular system, liver, kidney.

Indications for SPECT/CT examinations are:

  • Suspicion of bone metastases in cancer of the breast, prostate, lungs, stomach (scintigraphy and SPECT/CT of the skeleton with RP 99m Тс-phosphotech).
  • IHD (SPECT / CT of the myocardium with radiopharmaceuticals 99m Tc-technetril to assess myocardial blood flow, contractile function of the heart, calcification of the coronary arteries).
  • Identification of autonomization of thyroid nodules and the risk of their malignancy, iodine deficiency and iodine-induced diseases of the organ (SPECT/CT of the gland with radiopharmaceuticals 99m Tc-pertechnetate and 99m Tc-technetrile).
  • Detection of adenoma of the parathyroid glands (SPECT/CT of the neck and chest with 99m Tc-technetril).
  • Detection of hemangiomas of the liver (SPECT/CT of the liver with radiopharmaceutical-labeled 99m Tc-pyrphotech erythrocytes).
  • Detection of branch thromboembolism pulmonary artery(SPECT/CT of the lungs with RP 99m Tc-macrotech).

The Institute of Nuclear Medicine at the Assaf Harofeh Medical Center offers a variety of imaging studies in the field of nuclear medicine, from various types of bone mapping to mapping of the adrenal glands and tumors

Scintigraphy

nuclear medicine

this is an avant-garde, non-invasive method for examining and treating pathologies of various organs and systems at the molecular level, which makes it possible to detect the disease long before the appearance of anatomical disorders and, if necessary, treat it with minimal exposure to healthy tissues.
The use of minimal doses of drugs in combination with the latest equipment and highly qualified personnel guarantees you a convenient, fast and accurate examination.
Most of the team speaks Russian.
All preparations are manufactured in a licensed radiopharmaceutical laboratory. This guarantees high reliability, quality of drugs and their compliance with all international standards.
Our department is equipped with modern equipment, including a 64-slice PET / CT and three gamma cameras, including a Combined SPECT / CT system, which provides simultaneous diagnostic information for both types of examinations.
The work of the department is divided into four main areas: oncology, neurology, cardiology and general nuclear medicine.

NUCLEAR ONCOLOGY

64-slice PET/CT with high throughput, streamlined professional work of the entire team, will help you in comfortable individual waiting rooms to undergo optimal preparation and imaging of various oncological processes.

of the stomach into the esophagus and its complications.
  • With the help of our technology, it becomes possible to detect recurrent bleeding, including intestinal bleeding.
  • Examination with labeled erythrocytes
mi gives an accurate diagnosis of hemangiomas in the liver.

a procedure for preoperative non-invasive identification of the best site for microsurgical treatment of impaired lymph flow (lymphedema).¬

Russia is a nuclear power with vast experience in the application of nuclear technologies in various fields of human activity. Nuclear medicine, which includes the use of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, began to develop in our country at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s. Modern nuclear medicine is a set of technologies that allow studying the blood supply to the brain, evaluating the functioning of internal organs and systems by scanning according to the principle of tomography.

Nuclear medicine in Russia

Patients' testimonies testify that today nuclear medicine in Russia has firmly taken a leading position in the field of early diagnosis and treatment of malignant pathologies. Such operations are carried out at different stages and with different forms of oncology, only the type of radionuclide used changes. Russian surgeons have successfully mastered new technologies for the treatment of malignant liver lesions, hormonal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, throat, thyroid gland and other serious diseases using radioembolization and radioimmunotherapy, cyberknives, and the Da Vinci robot.

Nuclear medicine in Russia: prices

Operation using the Da Vinci robot - from 380 rubles, Gamma knife - 220 thousand rubles.

The Moscow Center "PET-Technology" is located on the territory of the Medical and Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The center is equipped with state-of-the-art PET/CT equipment — the Discovery-610 scanner from the world's leading manufacturer of medical equipment.

The Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Federal Center for the Design and Development of Nuclear Medicine Facilities" of the FMBA of Russia was established by order of the FMBA of Russia on September 1, 2010 in connection with the emerging demand for the industry developing in the country. Currently, the portfolio of the enterprise includes more than 30 medical radiological institutions, where the Federal Center took part at various stages of their creation (from conceptual and design development to commissioning). Among them are 8 departments of radionuclide diagnostics with gamma cameras or SPECT, 7 centers of positron emission tomography, 5 departments of radionuclide therapy, 6 departments of radiation therapy (remote and contact), 3 laboratories for the production of medical radioisotope products, 2 large centers of medical radiology (with as part of the above departments), including the Federal High-Tech Center for Medical Radiology of the FMBA of Russia in Dimitrovgrad. Development of project documentation is carried out by qualified employees of the branch "Central Design Institute for Nuclear Medicine", St. Petersburg. The competencies of the personnel working at the Center allow the enterprise to perform the function of the General Contractor, a complete package of permits has been issued, which is necessary in accordance with the requirements of the law for the design and construction of radiation hazardous facilities.

At all stages of project implementation, the Federal Center provides a service based on existing experience in scientific and technical engineering support for the creation of nuclear medicine facilities, taking into account the specifics of the current regulatory framework, the requirements of state regulatory authorities and the market situation.

The branch of the Federal Center, the plant "Medradiopreparat" is the largest manufacturer of radiopharmaceutical products in Russia, which for more than 40 years has been supplying the market of Russia and neighboring countries with more than 12 types of radiopharmaceuticals and medical products based on radionuclides 131 I, 123 I, 89 Sr, 67 Ga, 111 In. After the reconstruction in 2010, the company has the necessary conditions that meet the requirements of GMP in the production and quality control of medicines. Together with leading scientific centers (FMBTS named after A.I. Burnazyan of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia, MRRC of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, RNTSRR of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and many others), the latest preparations are being developed using radioisotopes 188 Re, 68 Ga, 90 Y, 99m Tc and radionuclide generators with introduction of innovative methods and modern technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other socially significant diseases.

Since 2016, for the first time in Russia, the production of a new capsule form of the drug "Sodium iodide 131" with proven safety and effectiveness has been organized.

The enterprise carries out scientific and innovative activities in the preparation of expert opinions, recommendations, reference materials regarding regulatory and legal issues, permits and production documentation, the choice of technological equipment, statistical data and other information in the field of radiation medical technologies, including participation in the preparation of the interdepartmental State program "Development nuclear medicine in the Russian Federation”.
